VF35 mods
I will be shortly getting a vf35 turbo and was wondering what other mods i will need on my 00 classic. Am i right in thinking i will need fuel pump and injectors?
I am not sure what injectors my uk classic has!

You have 440's which will be fine for a VF35. I'd fit a walboro 255 pump anyway as your existing one may be getting tired at 8 years old. Decat would be good or at least a sports cat followed by a remap to bring it all together. I had a similar setup + a FMIC and got 313/300

depends on the year matt, as yours is a 00 car it will have the 440's, good for around the 330bhp mark and can run up to 350 maxxed out iirc...best to get a fuel pressure reg and walbro fuel pump aswell as the usual breathing mods, decat etc and an intercooler upgrade depending on how much power u want and of course a remap.....if you have the money get 550's as they will give more head room and scope for more power down the line

yeah thats all mattster, u might not even need an FPR, but for improved safety and the extra 100 quid i would get one, there aint that much work in fitting those bits either, you should see easily over the 300bhp mark with that done, i did it on mine last week and fitted an apexi power fc...some difference in power, the car pull so strong now youll love the VF35, makes a lovely chatter noise too

just depends man, if the box is in good condition and is treated sympathectically it may well last some have well over 350bhp on standard boxes, its torque that hurts them, and apparantly slamming into 3rd is the killer for alot, launches and aggressive changes will not help it or the clutch either

Very much depends on use, both your use and that of the previous owners! Mine had had a good life and I'm gentle with gearboxes!
There are no assurances though! Might be best to budget for the box going!

Some seem to last and others dont. I was second owner and the first was a lady who I doubt was into drag racing.
I know of UK box's lasting a fair bit with close to 400lbft plenty of track and strip work. And mine that had an easy life up to a point of 6 launches and a week later it spat a tooth off 2nd on an unloaded drive to work (snowing).
I would budget it in my costs I was was you mattster.

Just done the same on mine (less the injectors as its a 99 with 440's) but with sti 8 intercooler and 3 port boost solenoid also mapped by JGM . Feels plenty quick enough for me at the moment! Big brakes certainly come in useful now !

(sorry to hijack) dose it work noticably better with the sti intercoooler on as i have same mods just standard intercooler
#24
The standard intercooler becomes a limiting factor in to how much boost you can run. The more boost pressure the higher charge temps get.....if your intercooler isnt very efficient this can lead det. Having much larger core/increased efficiency lets gives you a much better safety margin letting your mapper run more boost.
