Default Power steering overhaul kit?

Is there such a thing that can be bought to replace the seals etc in a power steering pump?

Yup there sure is, but the type of kit is dependent on your chassis/vin no:

Let me know what it is & I'll post the part no on here tomorrow morning.

Thats great news thanks mate, I dont have the car here its a 95WRX, it has a round fluid reservour on top. Is that enough infomation?

Dave,

On a 95my you will have to buy the seals separately I’m afraid.

They normally leak from the seal between the reservoir & the pump itself, If this is the case then you will need 1x 34427AA020 which has a retail price of £1.12 from a dealer.

The next popular place is a leak from the sensor at the back of the pump when you hold the steering on full lock, this I’m afraid you will be unable to cure (many have tried and failed) you will need either a new pump £440 - £670 (depends on vin) or a second hand one, which can normally be found for about £80.

If however the leak is from the front of the pump i.e. behind the pulley (haven’t had one leak from here yet), then you will need 1x 34424AA010 £7.56
