Default petrol light ??

i have a 95 import wrx

i drove to work other day and i was on empty, about (8 miles there) and I chanced coming back to the shell near my house ( so theres another 9 miles ish back from work inc 2 short stints on motorway)

question is on my fuel gauge theres a petrol pump symbol, is this JUST a symbol or does it sposed to light up when low on juice ?

not 100% sure but i think on the early classics they do not have a warning light

There is NO warning light on an early classic.
