Simon - Jolly Green Monster on here
AndyF - Has car, will travel
Zen Performance - Paul

All of the above will do a good job. You may have to travel to them or maybe they can travel to you.

Wayne.

Before anyone gets started: I recently had my car mapped by Bob (my 3rd visit) and the road mapping process most certainly does take a safety first approach! It can be a little intimidating for newbies as they'll have to drive their car quite precisely whilst getting accustomed to it's new found performance. It is NOT scary because it involves any dodgy antics, or wreckless driving, however!

Traffic always comes first and it is the driver's responsibility to take this into account when meeting the requests of the mapper; they make it very clear that you should do this. The road mapping process is actually very controlled and performed on a dual carriageway set at NSL.

You WILL NOT find a better mapper than Bob, I'm convinced of that much!

Also, an advantage of road mapping is that you get to see how alterations to the cars mapping translate to on road performance then and there.

LOL to avoid starting a mapper war, I'm just going to say that you won't find better: there is no way of empirically proving who is the best.

I just wanted to dispel the notion that on-road mapping doesn't put safety first. Personally, I think the road is the only place to finalise a map: that's where you drive it after all!

stick with a reputable name and no matter who you go with you'll get a great result.

the usual tuners/mappers are best

Scoobyclinic use pat Herborn (mapped mine), API use him as well, Bob rawl is BRDevelopments, andy forrest performance and the list goes on

ive used NEIL from Slowboy-racing uk unlike many other tuners out there he offers advice and never tryies to sell u something that u wont need his got great knowledge and his in the business cause he enjoys wat he doin not like som of the tuners.

he once waited for till 9.00 pm so i can drop my car off to him, he always kept me well informed thought the whole process and the best thing about him is that he loves wat he does and he takes pride in his work ive been dealing with him for the last year and every time i speak to any one about slow boy its always great reviews. wat more can u want from a tuner?????

All the best tuners will offer impartial advice and not just try and sell you something you don't need! As for work ethics, ditto: Just using Bob as an example, I recall an article in the Ill fated Scoobymag where Bob was mapping an RCM built WR1 and ended up finishing at 12am Sunday night....or should that be Monday Morning!

Many of the best tuners on here have either left other jobs to pursue mapping full time because of the love of it, or they do it on the side cause they enjoy it so much.

FWIW

I've also had dealings with Jolly Green Monster and Andy F and all of them are first class as far as service is concerned: good advice, no obligation and no BS.

Zak @ Mocom has done mine twice and can't fault it, drives so much better than it ever did before.

Never heard a bad word said against him. North Weald's not far from Surrey either, just a nip round the M25

Thumbs up

You will not find better than Bob (and you'll find many worse imho) and he is at this end of the country, unlike Andy F who's up in the frozen wastes

Bob is based in Swindon so is no more than an hour from pretty much anywhere in Surrey and that gives you a excuse for an "enthusiastic" drive home.

He maps on the road, but then where do you drive your car? On the road or on the dyno...

Email him any questions and he'll get back to you, usually in the evenings.
