Default Where is the ECU???

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I did search but couldn't find the answer.

Where is the ECU on a 96 STI v2? I want to check and see which one I have as thinking of getting the Polar performance chip.

Thanks
Kev

ScoobyECU. It works a treat, upped my boost to 1.1bar (16psi) i have a AFR guage fitted and the fueling is spot on, i have had no probs . I have a K&N IK and full 3" decat. Dont be put off by 'generic maps will kill your scoob' type posts(each to their own Tidgy) you pays your money and takes your chance! £ for £ its a nice mod for an old car.
One last word, chances are you ECU will not have the DIL socket fitted, so unless you are very compitent with a soldering iron get some one who is to fit the socket for you,or use the sellers fitting service, i did mine and ballsed it up cost me a replacment ECU from Polarperfomance at a later date (£80) that'll teach me (but then again!

You decide

considering i've seen maps transfered from car to car and have to be removed straight away due to unsafe runnign then think that is good reason to.

and not one reputable tuner will use them

and i've just noticed in your other post you suffer from boost issues resulting in fuel cut b13.

it it misses then you may kiss your engine goodbye, think it shows that a proper map is the best way forward

So you would NOT consider Scott.T to be a 'reputable tuner' then, despite all the time and hard work he has done in developing the maps You are an old stick in the mud Tidgy. Anyway i dont want to hijack this thread and go down this road so we agree to disagree

depends on your perspective, he's selling his wares, i just wouldn't trust em if you gave them to me for free, and your having issues with it by the sounds of it.

and by reputable tuners i mean the likes of Zen, roger clark, scoobyclinic, api, powerstation, etc etc
