have you checked your ecu for error codes.

Coil packs, spark plugs etc etc.

The Jap WRX does not have a TPS. This code is not applicable. More likely to be plugs or coils. Try plugs first and gap them perfectly.

you can get all sorts of weird codes when something goes wrong, the ecu is not infalliable, it does sound to me like it could be to do with plugs and coils, i would have said thats your first step, then see how you go from there. You could also chuck some injector cleaner through it too, wouldnt hurt.

they might well be if they are the same age, but i would get the right ones, there are plenty on ebay for about 50 quid each, new, which is not a bad price, or you could risk it like i did and get 3 second hand ones for 50 quid, 2 dont work!!!
