Default Another Exhaust Question

Right then

99 STI JDM V5
Strut brace off
intercooler off
heat shield off
skin from knuckles off
everything wd40'd in prep for tomorrow morning when i will attempt to remove the down-pipe to fit the de-cat scoobyworld H&S downpipe.

QUESTION...........are you ready?

Is the sensor currently in the cat on my car a heat sensor only (thus not necessary after removal)

or is it required for fuel/air/ratio mixtures and ultimately will cause me problems without?

Thanks peoples

sensor at top is lambda

i haven't seen more than one hole for a sensor, the only i can see is directly begind the turbo and the H&S downpipe has a hole cut for this. Which one would this be?

Lamda required right?
