Default cel light on

just fitted a sports cat downpipe and a decat centre pipe to my impreza wrx blobeye 54 plate,. and its been fine for about 2 days and then on my way to work on the motorway the engine light come on,is this normal because its decatted on the centre pipe? the car itself feels totally fine to drive. im getting a remap next month will this take the light off?

The remap will sort it out and you'll not get anymore cel light. That along with more torque. It's the sensor reading hot exhaust gas temp because you removed the cat.

No it's not a problem at all. It tell's you that your egt is too hot i.e. your cats not working because you replaced it with a free flow one giving hotter gas than expected. When you get a remap the guy will simply switch off the cel and it will never come on. Have you done your up pipe too?

The up pipe won't effect your mot. It's just a pre-cat. The sti's, earlier wrx's don't have a pre-cat in the up pipe at all. They even stopped putting them on the wrx 05-. The aftermarket up pipe companies must have had a deal with subaru.

I it's the 2.5 then they got rid of the restrictive up pipe pre-cat.
