Default A bit confused about the exhaust, any advice appreciated!

Hi all,

I have put a hayward and scott cat back system on my car and i have just bought the second cat replacement pipe (prodrive one) i havent fitted it yet but am thinking of getting a sports cat also (again prodrive), my confusion is.. Do i have to remap the car to have either or both of these parts on or will i be ok to run the car with again either or both of these parts on without causing the car to have any issues?

The car is a 2001 uk300 without the ppp pack fitted

Thanks for any advice
Chris

Not necessary for the second cat, but recommended. For sports cat as well a remap is a must in my opinion. If you have the exhaust fitted just before the remap, take it easy until its mapped. Having the remap done will get the full potential out of the exhaust mods and make the car drive so much better. You will ask yourself why you didn't do it before!

You dont have to remap, but as said when you do you'll wonder why you didnt do it sooner!!
I had a few parts fitted (fuel pump, regulator, boost controller, full exhaust and downpipe) and ran without a remap for 8 months and all was fine.

I then fitted headers, front mount and new ecu and got the car mapped................ ....what a completely different car, better to drive, smoother, faster, more torque....so id defo recommend aremap!!

Well just to be safe in case the car is over fuelling or underfuelling or overboosting or anything like that due to whatever uve fitted....when u get the car mapped it will be set up to get the best out of all the mods uv fitted and all ignition fuelling will be all adjusted to suit whatever u have fitted and get the best, safe power out of the car!!

Thats my opinion anyway!!

When you de-cat and introduce a sports cat the engine breaths better. This enables the turbo to spool up quicker and there is a possibility of over boosting.

Overboost, not enough fuel, detonation = death of an engine.
