Default Low idle

Hi , Im a bit worried about my baby as she seems to idle quite low does anyone know what a 95/96 wrx jdm wagon (auto) should idle at ?

Funnily enough i had Mine MOT'd today and it was idling at 823 RPM... seems happy at that

yeah i think its between 750 and 850, as long as its happy and doesnt try and stall when you plant it it should be fine.

thanks , mines a lot lower than that but dosent stall . its fine when cold but when it comes of choke its really low not sure how much will check tonight.

give the idle control valve a clean with brake cleaner it might be sticking and causing the low idle.
if that dont work the icv's are adjustable by undoing the screws and slightly twisting it.(well it is on mine anyway)

im havin same problem,except when warm if i pull up to junction revs drops to as low as 0 and jump bk up to around 400 revs,replaced o2 sensor no difference so i think next job is maf replacement

Hya,

I had the same problem error code came back as throttle position sensor, might be worth a look.

Thanks for the answers , im going to pull it in the vw workshop i work at and check what revs it really is at on idle . then i think ill check the fault codes
