Low idle

Hi , Im a bit worried about my baby as she seems to idle quite low does anyone know what a 95/96 wrx jdm wagon (auto) should idle at ?

satancom 27 March 2008 05:28 PM

Funnily enough i had Mine MOT'd today and it was idling at 823 RPM... seems happy at that :)

mikey2 27 March 2008 05:31 PM

yeah i think its between 750 and 850, as long as its happy and doesnt try and stall when you plant it it should be fine.

BURTON 27 March 2008 05:50 PM

thanks , mines a lot lower than that but dosent stall . its fine when cold but when it comes of choke its really low not sure how much will check tonight.

give the idle control valve a clean with brake cleaner it might be sticking and causing the low idle.
if that dont work the icv's are adjustable by undoing the screws and slightly twisting it.(well it is on mine anyway)

im havin same problem, except when warm if i pull up to junction revs drops to as low as 0 and jump bk up to around 400 revs, replaced o2 sensor no difference so i think next job is maf replacement
