Default p***ed off!!

had a problem with low tick over 400-600 revs and no reading on my air fuel ratio guage,so i took it to re motorsport and richard there told me that it was the o2 sensor,he'd recently fitted an aftermarket 1 that he had layin around, and it was fine for a while but obviously didnt last long,so he ordered a genuine subaru 1 and fitted it today and told me it was fine so i payed him £140 and there isnt any difference, the only difference i have this im getting a reading on the air/fuel guage, the revs however still drop to nearly 0 when pulling up to a junction and tick over is still low!
any ideas??

Sounds more like the maf sensor to be honest.

As above, does sound more like an iffy Maf. Complain, it never hurts and may make you feel better. Chances are you won't get anywhere. Have you tried the unplug test on the Maf? I know this is no way a guarantee, but, if it carries on running then it's got to be a suspect Maf.

I'd take the car back and tell him to sort it.

Had exactly the same problem with mine, it would be fine on cold running but once warmed up it would hunt between normal idle and about 200rpm. New MAF sorted it right out.

take your dumpvalve off and block the hole completely, see if that helps your idle, had the same on the mr2, was the dumpvalve leaking.

I have encountered idle problems, if water level was low, or even with a iffy water temp sensor. Just something else to check/bare in mind..

Good Luck Baly
