Several people think this is bull.

I get 365bhp all day, peak was once 382bhp on a dyno. Torque around 360.

V2 Sti, yellows, tdo5, fmic, ported headers, 3 inch exhaust, ported heads, big fuel pump, lightened flywheel and clutch and good quality pump fuel.

NEVER ran it on cheap fuel.

I was beating some big motors on the race track. I have the trophys to proove it.

300-320BHP at standard Fuel Pressure will have the 440's running approx 97-98% IDC.
Increase the pressure a little and you should see a bit more.

Thanks scott, would it be worth while getting 550's and no pressure reg, or 440's with a pressure reg?

440's will give you a slightly better idle.
But 550's will give you more headroom.
Swings'n'Roundabouts.

Depends what your future plans are.

If I had 440's I would fit a pump and reg as it's alot easier then changing injectors.
But if you have to change them anyway, then maybe 550's are a better, although genrally a more expensive, option.

Now you've done it Scott!!

You can probably tell i am building a strong engine at the moment, but its unlikely it will go in this wagon, i will buy an ra for this engine, so my wagon will keep the sti v2 engine and 16G, i am just trying to get it running sweet, maximizing the full potential of what i have already fitted, although if that means buying 550's i will, or keeping the 440's and getting a fpr i will, i just dont want to get to a point where it is definate that i will kill my gearbox!

All this bigger injectors = poor idle talk is rubbish. Its all to do with how good your mapper is. I went up from 440's to 740's I saw no difference in idle and better dirveability and far better fuel economy.

This was on a highly Modded 2 litre. The step up in injectors was to allow for a GT30R

that looks a similar spec to mine, and i am acheiving 359bhp with 354 torque figures.

I was supposed to have 740's fitted when my engine was rebuilt by a certain tuner.

i paid £475 for the four with adaptors,
how can i tell exactly what injectors they are.

cheers mark

350 is the main stream thought, but there are some freaks out there that get more (so the 365 might be accurate, 380 seems a tad high, so might have been an optimistic RR), and on the same boat there are some that dont make 350.

6bhp variance isn't much at all,

air temps can make 20-30bhp difference, so 6 is good

Yellow usually indicates 440cc but they could be modified 440's which, as far as i know, flow around the 740cc mark.
Standard Yellow 440 cc injectors will be maxed out (100% IDC) at around 340- 350bhp. I'd hate to run these with outputs any higher than that

Cheers

What about the US STI and hawkeye 2,5l injectors, they are yellow and sidefeed as well and I was told they are 550s...

I'm just requoting what was quoted to me after a customer spoke to Andy F re the pro's and cons of 440's and 550's.
Please feel free to take it up with Andy.

So back to original question, it appears that with a good strong setup, running well on 440cc injectors i should be able to see nicely over 300bhp, with getting near the same torque figures, which sounds good to me. I think if i was trying to get nearer 350 bhp, then the obvious thing to do to help this would be to fit at least 550's with a fpr, which will for sure be a better set up, for that sort of power. Considering i dont want to reach torque figures that will definately munch my gearbox, 440's seem to be the right decision, if i feel, of the mapper feels that a fpr will benefit the setup, i will fit one.
