classic exhaust, 2 cats or one?
i jut replaced my downpipe with a hks de cat ( sounds too nice now, think im gunna have to get rid of the stereo ) but still have the original center section with a blitz nur spec, does the center section have another cat or is it just a resonator? had a little look down there and it seems there is nowt i want to get a new center section at some point to match the 3" pipes but would that be too much?

uk has two cats, imports have the single downpipe one as standard,as yours is a wrx then its the later, can come with a resonated center section that looks externally like a cat,but its not.

If its a wrx then its an import as they were not sold as such in the uk....... turbo 2000 models for this country
Cats and mots are a grey subject, some say you need one on a early scoob some say not, from 92 0nwards cats were a legal requirment in this country, being an import you would think this would not apply, but unfortunatly it does....... could always fit the cat for the mot and remove it afterwards, not encouraging you to do this of course as that would be illegal......

I think the law states that if the car is built after 1989 and has a cat fitted as standard then you have to keep that cat on, as from jan 1993 it was law for all cars to be fitted with a cat.
Make your own mind up on that one
