Default loud whistle or screach? since fitting new turbo pipe

as above

my car has run worse since fitting new turbo inlet pipe today

the car was cutting out etc before replacing but seems worse since replaced

i have now developed a scream or screach sound

it happens when car deselerates

if i rev its fine but on the revs dropping it makes this noise
sounds like its near turbo?

hi

i have now come accross more details

the whistle is not there when engine is cold?
also i have still got the same problem with the loss of power and cutting out which i thought would be cured with the new pipe

video clip of car on tickover after first start of day posted and also a video of the car being held at a sertain rev

as you can see from video the car surges .

when its warmed up it ticksover at about 850 900 rpm but still revs on its own then cuts out after a while .after cutting out it wont start for some time maybee 10 seconds of turning key?
i have no flashing lights on dash or anything
any ideas?

got to sort this problem asap due to missus moaning and might have to sell if cant rectify soon

i dont wanna sell!!!!!!

is it possible that the rocker cover bolt can whistle due to slight leak?

maybee air presure leaking out of it?

seems to be showing correctly but does take time to boost as the car has lost power but when high revs its fine

Possibly ecu temp sensor mixed with an air leak of some sort id say.

Also id say your inlet pipe is leaking, either the gasket or a hole in the welding.

That would explain your noise and the loss of power, get the standard pipe back on to rule it out first.

You car is probably idling high as it's trying to compensate for the air leak.

And as for the cutting out, ecu temp sensor failing that your idle vale is playing up.

cheers for all the help guys

(hux309) the pipe i fitted was a standard replacement anyway

i finally sorted my problem with the car except for the whistle

after spending much pennies and time on the car i finnally gave my self 1 more task

fit the rocker cover o ring to one of the bolts that was leaking as i thought maybee it was loosing pressure from the bolt .

after doing this the car was the same and as i was collecting tools from the engine bay to put away i caught something which stopped the surging.

after 10 mins i realised if i put pressure on the maff sensor plug the car run ok

after looking closer the sensor unit inside has three pins that the plug sits on and they had broke
after a bit of playing i got it to make contact and guess what? i realised i wasted all my money on nothing

all i need now is the whistle sorting
all power is just about back

so cheers all

the wistle will be an air leak, and i doubt from the rocker cover, its going to be psot turbo if it does it onthe run down i think, the best thing is run it and try and see if you can block the hole its leaking from, use rag or your finger if you will, its there somewhere.
Glad you got the rest sorted though, i have done something similar, spent a forune on the car to get it working to find out i needed to jsut replace a length of wire, cost of repair, £5.30, total spent, £300+!!!!!!
