Default 2 Port changed to 3 Port Boost Solenoid

As title, changing to 3 Port Boost solenoid, and wondered which pipe the brass restrictor should be in.I have heard conflicting opinions on this, some say the bottom port which connects to the induction pipe, and others to the compressor housing pipe where it was origionally.

Could anyone clarrify !!!!!

Thanks in advance.

assuming it is being mapped for the change then check with mapper on their preferred.. but I find good control on a 3port without the brass restrictor..

I'll second that,

Advice to me was no restrictor, just pipe it direct and I vented back to intake.

IIRC no, you can't mate. Ideally it is fitted by the mapper then mapped straight after.

With the prodrive version, and maybe others too, you can plumb it in but dont plug it in, that will allow you to get to your mapper on actuator pressure. With the 3 port solenoid valve not plugged in, its an open port, so its like piping direct to your actuator from the compressor housing.

I left the old 2 port solenoid valve plugged in to stop any error codes that may occur, drove the car like that for over a month with no ill effects, apart from performance. Infact, I got near 300 miles to a tank on actuator pressure.

Needs to be mapped for as the 3-port will require different Wastegate Duty Cycles.

did this recently , ran about 2 weeks on actuator pressure, direct from compressor , until i saw tuner. definitely u have to remap , u can with it installed but keep your eye on boost , because u will boost spike , have to retune with much lower wastegate duty cycles .
