where abouts it it in the enigne bay?

Can't tell you exactly, but it should be next to the main butterfly/throttle housing...

on a 97/98 car its on the right side of the throttle body fitted to the inlet manifold. It has two screws holding it on( these are adjustable), an electrical connector and a water pipe to it.

It's bolted to the side of the throttle body, near the top.
