Default Why does my Impreza Splutter??

Hi can anyone please advise on this problem?.
Impreza turbo MY94.
If I accelerate faster than normal driving the engine splutters (as if it's missing for a second), this is intermittent though and does not happen all the time. When cruising be it 50 or 70 it never seems to happen and the car runs sweet, it’s only when accelerating quicker than normal?
Can anyone please advise on poss. Reason why?
Thanks
Rich

A few things to try

1. check the spark plugs and coil packs
2. check the maf sensor by unplugging the sensor when the engine is idling (should cut out) remove it and give it a good clean with carb cleaner and a cotton bud.
3. Check the boost control hoses to the solenoid make sure there are no splits or any are loose.
4. Give the boost solenoid and hoses a spray with carb cleaner/brake cleaner while in test mode.
