Default Urgent help required!

I have been trying to fit a bailey dump valve to my motor today anyway as i found out to my cost i have the wrong fitting kit!! Anyway my problem is this whilst putting the original back on i snapped off the small lug that the thin pipe going to the manifold attaches to. What should i do now, can i drive it without that pipe on do i block the pipe from the manifold what are my options and please dont say glue it back on coz i havnt got time!
Many thanks.

it wont run too good with a vacuum leak at the manifold, you need to find a bolt that fits or replace the plastic lug

by the sounds of things, you ve got the wrong dump valve...

it NEEDS to be a TWIN PISTON

identifiable on the bailey DV's by if you look up inside where the big pipe attaches if its a twin piston you will be able to see a small metal piece sticking out of the plastic piston, if no metal visable (just a flat piston) then its a single piston,, and your car is not designed to run a single piston VTA valve (it will hunt on idle, and prob cut out when pulling up to lights etc)

hth

if it is the right one, its sticking, mine had a bailey on it that did this, soak it in wd40, but make sure you wipe it all off afterwards so that the engine doesn't 'breath' in the wd40

in that case, im 99.9% sure that its a single piston...

if you take out the ring of allen keys and whip the top off you ll be able to see, (watch the spring!!!)

did you buy it from a shop?

if it is a single piston it can really only be used on turbo cars WITHOUT air flow meter... narrows it down quite substantially

hope you sort something out
