Default FMIC question?

When looking at buying my96/00 fmic kits, quite often it says can be fitted on earlier cars, such as my94, but needs minor modification.
What does it normally mean by minor modification? is it bumper cutting or more? would i need more pipework or just to be safe, get a bit of 63/64mm silicone in with jubilees just in case?
thanks

Read KIPS thread in projects.

I fitted mine over a year ago now, so it's a little hazy as to what I needed to cut body work wise, other than the bumper.

If i remember correctly you have to modify one of the pipes under bonnet which goes to the throttle body, cut it shorter

hope this helps

Yes, the ab88 kit i had has been redesigned for older cars and is a fairly straightforward fit.

The ic mounts upside down, you don't need to cut a hole in the wing as it used the existing airbox hole, all you have to do is cut the bumper and bumper bar in all the relevant places and remove the fog light adjusters.

I did use some spacers to bring the LH fog out 15mm or so but it's hardly noticeable as it catches the piping for the ic.

I posted pics at the end of the thread anyway.

And no piping required cutting, they supplied a small u bend pipe to avoid the throttle body.

Just make sure nothing touches the piping, it's a right pita having pipes come off under boost, it held back my remap, everythings fine now though just some tidying up required it was rushed as i had sod all time to fit the thing.

The autoban88 kit still comes with poor clamps so id get a set of mikalor or similar, at least for the lower piping.

One last bit, the new ab88 kit didn't even have an outlet for the dv luckily i found an ex raf welder who did a great job of welding a pipe on.

Just make sure you order the one for your year, flat4 sells them though he can be lax with delivery so give yourself plenty of time.

I just had to cut the top top as it passes the battery, as seen here:
