Default How Far Can I go for BHP

I have a my99 scoob impreza, UK Spec, its currently running 313bhp and i know that I can acheive more brake by having a bigger turbo etc etc, but i wanted to know what would be a "safe" limit before the engine was at risk!

Assuming its in good order, and with the right supporting mods, 350ish is a good figure for the std internals for a daily driver.. gearbox might not agree though! Std internals have been taken up to 400bhp in some instances.

i have same car, and similar power; considering its worth due to age and mileage i dont think and i see others also say that they wouldnt really push the car too far beyond 350bhp because more than that u are looking at spending money to reinforce what u already have.

looking at forged internals etc etc...

tho i have seen turbo 2000s taken to 400bhp b4

at the mo im on 284bhp and and can easily get to 300bhp but when i get to 350bhp (ish) if i decide to keep the car its prob best to play the weight saving game or spend money on handling mods

if im wrong then feel free to correct me but that what i have been recommended by tuners and friends; i too would like to see more power from my car without bursting the bank

i've always been told about 350.

mines at about 320 at the moment an having the fueling done an raise the boost as it's only at 0.8 bar so i'm lookin at 340-350 an stopping there.

350 mark and you'll find the gearbox starts to play up, mine did after 10K at that level before I changed for a 2.5L jobbie.

hi all just bought a 05 sti with blitz nurb spec r exhaust and snake head and the car is running at 1.5 bar of boost was wondering if anyone had a rough idea what kind of power it will be putting out . this is the only info i have as the car was bought from a garage and meant to be standard and there is no bleed valve or boost control on it

400 is achievable, engine will put up with that properly mapped with the right mods and fuel but the box and clutch defo won't.

cheers

Just thought someone should mention that mileage and past history does play a big part here..I have seen even mildly tweaked 99 cars throw in the towel at around 70,000 miles...
Just bear in mind that all performance tuning carries a risk and also be prepared to accept that something could fail whether or not you choose to modify it...
