Default 440cc injectors- do they differ?

Ive been advised that 440cc injectors would be a good idea for when i upgrade. Is there anything that i need to know about when it comes to getting them(are there different types, do i need any other parts to fit them). I know they are yellow and thats about it, i don't even know where they go. I have a 96 wrx wagon if this helps.

You need the injectors from a 97/98 Sti 3-4. The later 99/00 UK and Sti5-6 are a different fitment but are also yellow just to confuse you !

You could get the 99/00 ones but you would need adaptors to fit your rails.
You can get the adaptors from here Carl Davey, specialist Subaru Impreza parts supply

obviously the direct fit ones would be a better buy but the later ones are more common.

Its advisable to get them flow checked before you use them. Mark @lateral can do this for you > Lateral Performance

depending on the mods your planning, have you thought about the 550cc to give you more headroom?

Mods so far are walbro fuel pump, tdo5, sports cat (100 cell) downpipe leading to apexi straight through, upgraded panel filter, lightened pulleys and have got a 2003 wrx tmic to attempt to put on when get time. I want to get a mappable ecu or esl daught board so that car can be done properly, but, ive now hit a bit of a snag (shock horror). I dont know what engine ive got, i'll explain.
When i originally bought the car (1st scooby) i was told that the engine had been replaced for another with less miles, tbh i thought yeh cool. The thing is i don't know what engine ive got wagon, saloon, exact year and so on. I have been told by people here on SN that classic wagons usually have Z4 ecu's, mine hasn't, it's a 3B. Ive just emailed the bloke that i got the car from cos i need to find out the exact engine so that i can buy the right apexi power fc for car to be remapped.

The engine replacement hopefully wont be a factor.....
Is unlikely that its had a long engine replacement (block and heads). If it has, then its even more unlikely that it will be from a different phase engine because of wiring loom changed and ECU etc.......

Its more likely that it has just had the block replaced. in which case the ecu heads and ancillaries wlil all be original.

Hopefully you can get this cleared up and get modding

Have just found out that the engine was a direct replacement for original (done by HDC Subaru) so i now know where i stand (phew), thought i was in for a long drawn out affair. Now i can set about modding (after some advice from sir Bob)
