just an update been out in it now only running 6 psi,i did give it some stick i might add, like i said earlier 2 pipes that connect to the bost solenoid were disconected bcos it looked like it had a bleed valve fitted which was removed but i still have it.

could it be a stick boost valve?also i did notice if u give it some welly then the engine light goes out?which i thought was wierd, and wen it was only running 6 psi the light went out for about minute then came back on,really need sum help with this as its annoying.

You can veiw my scooby to check solenoid pipes are right with bleed valve connected if that helps, As for other I am not certain about resolution but think that if its showing a fault then it may be in some sort of limp mode until rectified.
Hope this helps a bit

If the check engine light comes on its not a good sign! read the codes and replace whatever needs replacing. if someone has fiddled with the boost before hand you may have a few problems but id take it somewhere who knows about these cars.

knock sensor is located on the top of the engine block, above no 4 cylinder. as you look from front of car this would be the backone on the passenger side(rhd) under inlet manifold look for single wire white connector, going to a round black disk about 30mm in diamiter 20mm thick held with 12mm bolt through centre. as for boost i would change the boost pipes to valve first as the can go soft and cause problems.hope this is of help

Yes check the broken plug, hopefully it is a bad connection.

Also remember not to boost the car once you have reset the ecu, and wait for the check engine light to come on and go off, before you disconnect plugs and begin boosting. As this will throw your timing and wont allow you to boost as high. (once your knock sensor is sorted that is).

Good Luck
