Default Late Boost Problem

Hi Guys

I have a 93 WRX with a full de-cat 3" system with standard headers.

My original engine died when a head gasket blew so I had a new engine fitted, at the same time I added a 3" Downpipe to the 3" system.
Since then I don't hit boost full boost till about 4.5K (I don't have a boost gauge but the car doesn't pull properly till then) even tho I still have the standard turbo on it. 3rd Gear is the worst, it feels like 1 big flat spot unless u use all of 2nd and the plat it when u change up. 5th still feels good tho

I'm wondering if it is desperately in need of a remap? or is it because the MAF has been rained on as I took the front vent cover off and forgot about it until it had rained (hard) a few times.

Any help u can give me would be ace.

Thanks

Chris

unusual as mine kicks in at about 3K (mine's a decat but with a slightly smaller diameter exhaust).
Plug gaps, coilpacks may need having a look at first.

Check if you have got any exhaust or boost leaks, they will make your boost come on later. Also check if your wastegate is tight.
