Default MAF TEST?? ACCURATE??

hi there me again!! jus wanto know how accurate the test is on the maf is it a definate please only reply if u know for definate and not guessing!
am i right in thinking if the car is idling and u pull the maf plug off the car should stall to prove its running correctly?
i pulled mine out a few weeks ago and the revs dropped like it was gonna stall but still ran lumpy though and bit rough. is this telling me anything or not?

Not a full-proof test as far as I know. Only way is to get it to a specialist who can hook it up to a diagnostic check, which will look at the voltage from the sensor, beyond a certain range and its shagged!
