Hope someone can help? Just purchased an 07 STI UK. Noticed while cleaning the car, the boot lid itself, is not fitted with any kind of inside carpet or card type liner, so the metal bracing is exposed. Is this a weight saving exercise or is my car missing a liner?

my04 is the same...bits of wire and metal on the inside of the bootlid

Mine's the same, I picked it up new from the dealers & was also a bit shocked how sparce the trim is
