Default up and down erratic idle and stalling

on idle the revs are going up a down and occaisonaly stalling also when you pulling up to lights etc and you take it out of gear the car stalls can anyone enlightn me plz will it get worse and if in the mean time till i get it fixd wil i be doing any damage ?? thanks

mine did this for a while i found the maf was covered in crap,give it a good clean when i fitted the ngk7's it now runs sweet as a nut.
might not be your problem but worth a shot also check for air leaks on pipes/manifold gaskets

That sounds like a MAF problem. What model year is the car mate? If it's 99/00 do not try and clean it, replace it asap!

Any maf problems should be rectified asap, and the car should not be driven on boost till they are; a dodgy maf can break an engine very quickly!

its a 98 sti ra where is and wot does the maf look like wot would i clean it with ?? cheers
