Default What is this pipe and where do I get a new one?

Any ideas what the rubber pipe is in the pic below. It comes from/goes to (??) the intercooler. As you can see it's split slightly and isn't sealing properly.

Where can I get a replacement?

And what is the ribbed section for? (Waits for someone to say "your pleasure")

Thanks!

Not 100% sure but it looks like your intercooler inlet pipe.It ,I believe, comes from your turbo and the air that it contains is under pressure approx 1 bar. This air then goes through the intercooler (to cool it down as the turbo heats it up by compressing it) and then on to your engine inlet manifold. Not sure about the ribbed section but it looks as though its there to allow for movement of the intercooler ??
Can't help with a supplier though,sorry.

Should be able to get yourself a samco replacement, much better and less resistance.

Its the turbo to intercooler pipe, I'd get a replacement one from a silicone hose manufacturer Samco, SFS etc - choose carefully for your year of car though.

Its a fairly easy DIY job to undo the pipe clamps and the bolts holding the intercooler in position to replace the broken pipe.

If your current one is split you'll be loosing a lot of air pressure and power.

Good Luck

Thanks all. I've a MY00 UK Turbo. It's only split under the clamp I think, so I'm not loosing much pressure. You can see where the air/oil is escaping in the pic. I'll check out that link.

There should be NO oil there.
If it is split then you will be loosing a lot of boost.

Samco replacement but with the TMIC off the car, wash it out well with petrol to remove the oil inside it. Dry very very well and refit.

Hoses from lots of places, but API Engines will sort the right one for you.
