Default Bleed Valve

Hi guys, Im gunna put a bleed valve on my 1998 turbo 2000 to up the boost very slightly.

Am i best off putting the bleed valve in the pipe to the actuator or, as the instructions say, to remove the boost solinoid pipes and bybass it by putting the valve in there??

Also, would it be safe (ish) to run at 1.1 bar on a standard engine, have a boost gauge to monitor and dont plan on upping the boost too much and being silly!!

cheers

i doubt u'll be able to take it over a bar mate as your fuel cut will kick in.

If you don't stop the bleed and BCS working together you will have BIG overboost on tip ins at speed until the BCS shuts, I have mine in parallel and the combined signal then goes through a second bleed (1.5mm hole) so I get a controlled overboost for about 2 seconds...I also didn't bother with buying a bleed valve but used a plastic T-piece, plugged with araldite and then drilled out to get the right boost!

I had a prob with the boost solinoid sticking a while back and it was making it overboost, the overboost was cutting in at 1.4-1.5bar so was hoping 1.1bar would be ok and safe??
