Default Which Panel Filter?

Hi, I have an 01 WRX Bug Eye and was looking at induction kts and panel filters. I think I'm just going to go for a new filter to start with. I've been looking at the K&N filters, are these the best to go for or are there others out there that people would recommend? I noticed someone else on here had the sane car and a "Green panal filter" is this a brand name and are they any good?

Thanks...

Default Panel Filter and Performance

Thanks for the feedback guys, do they actually make much difference to performance? Also, do they make any difference to the sound of the air being sucked in similar to with induction kits?

Green filter for me. If you remove the intake resonator in the front wing as well you get lots more noise

Default Resonator

I like the 'sound' of that If there anymore info anywhere on how to remove the resonator? Will have an effect on anything else?

Great info on the snorkus stuff. I presume it's pretty similar for the classics? I've a '00 UK Turbo and there's definitely something in the wing.

However, it looks like the panel filter has been completely sacrificed and instead a hemisphere HKS filter has been plunked on. The pipe from the wing is still there but obviously not attached (See photo link below). So why did the previous owner go for this setup and should I be worried?

After a bit more investigation it seems like it's a known impreza bit of kit: Induction Kits and Panel Filters : Subaru Impreza HKS Super Power Flow HKS Induction Kit

Now finding out it has that and a sports cat, I'm also wondering if it has been remapped too, but I've no idea whether mine is 230bph or 270bph - never had an impreza before. lol what a noob. Was thinking about getting it remapped but now I'm totally in the dark as to what to do...... bah.

Changing the panel filter will have very little effect on power output.
