Smile 1995 Sti ra spec

Hya,

Iam thinking of buying a 1995 sti ra (£3850), is this a good price only has 42000 miles.

also whats the spec the engine? looks the same as a wrx with a slanty intercooler and the inlet manifold is not red. Its advertised with 300bhp as standard. How do you actualy tell if its an ra, what should I be looking for?

are the gearboxes limited to 120mph thats what I have been told, and how much do there actualy weigh?

Is the code GC8 the engine code?

Thanks alot Mark

Hya,

Cheers, so the inlet manifold isnt red mate, it has the dccd and the roof vent. but it does have electric windows and a/c is this right?

The guy also says there have 300bhp as standard

Is the gearbox still 5 or 6 speed?

Thanks Mark

yes ,my manifold is silver,,,,think the later 96 model is red,,,
the electric windows and AC would have been optional,,
if there is any engine upgrades on it // maybe 300bhp ,,good cars ,very quick, close ratio gearbox,,,but a bit of a pain on the motorway,,,needs another gear..

The red manifold first appeared on the 97 STi Ra (version 3), as above, the elec windows and a/c were options. As std they don't have central locking either, but may have been put in.
They make 271 BHP as std (275ps). And once the electronic speed limiter is removed (which it should be), they hit the rev limiter in 5th at around 120 - 130 Mph.

STi 2 RA is 275ps not 300BHP.
Runs 0.95bar of boost as standard but can be chipped upto 1.1bar quite easily as the standard ECU already has the socket fitted for the chip to drop into.
This will also remove the 112mph speed limiter which is set withing the ECU.
It should also have Sti seats rather then the black/grey WRX items along with a carbon strut brace.
The ECU should be labelled 7K but I doubt you'll get to see that on a test drive/viewing

I was thinking there must have been an error in the price...then realised the original post date!
