boost problems? help
hi, the problem im having is that i keep losing my boost. my wrx is remapped, upgraded fuel pump, hks induction kit, dump valve, etc. usually it runs at around 1.3/1.4 bar but more regularly now wont go past the 0.5 bar mark. i have changed the boost solenoids and checked all the hoses but it still doing it. can anyone shed some light for me?

WTF?????
If the actuator was stuck open you'd get no boost, stuck closed you'd get too much, if the clip fell off so the wastegate flapped open, again, no boost!
It could be a number of issues really, my BOV started leaking and that kept my boost down, if you've lost the pill the BCS can't flow enough to drop the pressure at the actuator, or it could be pulling boost deliberately due to a percieved problem....using a manual bleed valve or dawes is a good way of checking if its mechanical or electronic!

BOV location depends on what year cars yours is - showing the importance of using the 'view my scooby' feature!
BCS (that you say in your fisrt post you have changed?) is mounted on the drivers side just in front of the suspension turret on the inner wing, on a UK car from 99 on its under the alarm, it has a pipe coming to it from the turbo and one going away to the intake pipe.
Wastegate hose goes to the actuator on top of the turbo, if you pull the hose of that there is no boost control, so boost should soon go off the clock, if it doesn't then there is a hardware problem somewhere!
