MY00 MAF Problem
Have recently fitted a K&N panel filter to my00 classic impreza
(have read forums saying it has weak maf so not to fit an induction kit)
However after a week my MAF has gone, had to order new one from scoobyworld.
Has anyone else had similar problems
Or can anyone make a suggestion as to what panel filter.
I dont want to fit new maf only to find it goes again
Many thanks
Fastham

It's possible that fitting the filter damaged it, what i mean is the actual fitting, not the result of using it.... i had a k&n panel filter, and now a k&n induction... both with no issues.....

Ok thanks for that.
Do you mean sort of vibration as i took the box cover off and replacing it?
Didnt realise they were that sensitive.
Thanks

Have just replaced the Maf with new one which arrived today.
ECU now reads clear
But engine turns over with no attempt to start.
If i connect the two connectors ecu reads clear but the there is loud clickin noise from a little unit behind the airbox next to the sigma alarm. it has denso written on it, also the fans appear to start up and then stop intermittently. This doesnt happen without connectors connected.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Many thanks

the connectors need to be apart, with them together, the ecu is running it's check system, so it checks everything it runs... ie, the boost solenoid bits and the fans etc...... unplug it and the car should start.... if it doesn't, you may have dislodged something critical....
