Default power steering pump

Hi evreyone, happy new year!!

my 1994 wrx import is suffering from a leak somewhere on the power steering pump and sometimes it really makes that annoying noise and i topped up the fluid level and the noise goes away and comes back even the fluid level is on top but when driving you can't hear it ? i think i need a new power steering pump... does anyone know where i can get a good second hand or brand new one not too expensive!!!

Probably a whining noise when the fluid gets low.

I have the same problem on mine.

The whining noise is air in the hydraulic system. After topping up, you should go from lock to lock a couple of times to flush the air out.
Before you buy a new pump, find out where the leak is. It could be the rack or pipe connections.
