i have recently bought an sti v4 which apart from a decat blitz exhaust the car is standard i think.And i am just wondering if it could be chipped as when u drive it hard the boost goes right round to 1.3 bar which is the maximum on the guage does this sound right????? how could i tell if the car has been chipped???? it also had a full rebuild by api?? could anyone tell me what the standard boost should be???? thanks jamie.

 

Lift the carpet in the passengers footwell and unscrew the metal plate. Underneath there is where the ecu is, check to see if the ecu is not a standard item. 1.3 bar seems a little high for standard boost, but when you decat your exhaust then your boost will rise slightly

 

Std boost should be 1.1, you should expect a little bit of boost creep as you have a decat so it may just be that! you have only gained 0.2 bar?

thats on a wrx. sti's are slightly higher

 

indeed, boost for a WRX or Uk car non Sti is 0.9bar, an Sti will boost to 1.1bar
