Alarm sounds when starting

Alarm sounds when starting
Slightly confused about this one
Only on occasion does it do this - when I go to start the car, the alarm will sound for about a second (single loud "beep") as I crank it over.
Car starts fine and no sign of warning lights on dash or anything afterwards.
Wondered if maybe my battery could be on way out or if it's anything to worry about.
Any suggestions helpful
