had it out before and i looked easy when a mate was doing it,
i hope so as i just ordered one and will have to do it myself.
or take all the seats and bits out and get a mechanic to do
20 min job or less for him.

It's a pretty easy job, did it on my last impreza.

There's a really good guide on ScoobyMods.com with pictures etc.

With the right tools and care over exposed fuel it is straightforward. Ok, I am a mechanic but it is pretty easy.

If you do attempt it, wear gloves (Nitrile best) and be sure to de-pressurise the fuel system and disconnect the battery...

Right tools is spot on, buy yourself a hose removing tool (good quality ones are quite cheap). Worth their weight in gold for not injuring the fuel hoses on top of the tank...it's diff, cross member and tank out if you kill one!

Take a little care guiding the pump, cover plate etc out and in so as not to hurt your fuel guage and float.

Dead easy.....I did mine, the hardest bit was locating the thing. lol.
As said already, correct tools and allow plenty of time with someone to nip to the car spares if you come a cropper.
