This is what they say...

We have developed a LPG kit for the Impreza wrx which is good for 300 bhp, reliability has been good, indeed most of the horror story’s you hear are because people fit an LPG kit that cannot deliver enough gas for a turbo 200+ car and so run lean. Fyi LPG is 108 – 110 ron so det is not a problem!

We use a converted 8cly kit to flow enough gas.

The conversion is £2500 inc fitting and vat

Still undecided!

I can get the conversion done locally for about £1500 and am 99% confident it will be done well. The current price difference between LPG and Petrol seems assured by Government until 2009 so with my mileage it would pay for itself by then...but after that it's a gamble I think as to what happens with duty on LPG!

Although one thing is for sure petrol is only going up...

I can live with the smaller boot as I've only filled it once in 4 months and quite like the idea of enjoying the Impreza but with an equivilent to 40mpg! Thats based on 25mpg on petrol minus 20% as LPG's less efficient but doubling that as it's half the price...
