Hi, I have a my95 wrx wagon import and for the last few weeks if i boost the car in 1st and 2nd to about 5k revs after the steering becomes heavy and a slight judder when you turn left. once the car has been left it will run fine with no problems?? any ideas?

Low power steering fluid? Was there a whine as well? Mine does this when the PS fluid gets low (why do I always buy cars that leak fluid from the PS reservoir?)....

just checked it and it is low! why would boosting it affect this? also looks like there may be a leak? there is fluid on the top of the engine any idea how to stop the leak?

The pump causes the fluid to become full of little bubbles when the engine revs go high enough, that's what causes the problem (I think).
Sorry, I don't know how to fix the leak....

Easy fix, but can be messy

There is an o ring at the bottom of the fluid resevoire which hardens and starts to leak.. replace this and your leak will probably disapear.. mine did
