Default where to buy new lifters from?

hi,ive got a 1994 subaru impreza just been rebuilt due to big ends going.i started it up and now i have a noise that sound like tappets, the hydraulic lifters i took out and cleaned them and put them back in the same order.i took it to 1 of my scooby mechanics,he defo said its the lifters and that they need draining first before they go back in but if just 1 is knackerd the engine will have 2 be taken out again.he also said i can use solid lifters as it would improve performance but where can i buy them from?i would rather buy new than to **** about removing the engine again.

any1 got any links where i can purchase cheap solid lifters?

thanks
simon

Pretty sure that the hydraulic lifters are Not interchangable for the STi Inner
shim buckets or the UK spec Outer shim buckets due to the lifter bore size on the early cylinder heads.
Hydraulic heads have a bush in the Lifter bore and even if you remove this, you still end up with a clearance problem between the bore and lifter.
You can fit STi Ver 3,4 cylinders heads or UK97 heads straight onto your block to get round the problem but not a cheap solution.
