Electric Power Steering Conversion On A Classic
In the process of speccing up a new engine for next years race season. Looking to run a big front entry turbo on my 1993 wrx. Read lots about relocating the resevoir to get clearence for the inlet hose but never seen it done by a self contained electric pump system mounted out the way.
First question is what is the electric feed for on the original power steering pump and can it be disconnected without any side effects??
Also does anyone have any experience with the elctric pump systems?
Am looking at a VAG group one on ebay witch looks a nice self contained system that would sit on the inner wing.
Any advice or comments greatly appriciated.
Cheers Steve

Power steering oil pressure switch. It connects with the ecu. I have no idea what will happen if it is disconnected.
Have you thought about relocating the PS reservoir like on the newage?
You could also raise the inlet manifold with some spacers.

Apexi ecu you have won't care about the oil pressure switch so can disconnect
might be better to get a rotated up and down pipe.. then run a straight inlet pipe!
