i can get pipe work done for about £35,,,as for the fmic its self ,,,i didnt do mine as it might block the air flow and its not worth the risk

Ollie, powder coating doesn't cost very much as said only around £30 for the pipes.

I wouldn't powder coat the core as this might interfer with the air flow and it's very ahrd to get good coverage on the fins, I sprayed mine and it came up a treat

I was wondering about the core and air flow. Im trying to think of something that might help dissipate heat well. Im thinking, at the moment, of using black matt paint on the core, the reasoning being that:

- Its black and transfers heat well
- Crinkled surface, greater area for thermal dissipation

Im not sure if theres anything else better out there yet. Off to see if Google can help
unless anyone know of something that works better?

Danny, been meaning to ask. Whats your spec at the moment? And hows the gearbox coping? Im just planning my mods whilst the car is off the road and want to make sure I dont miss anything when doing it all...

ollie,

I sprayed mine matt black using VHT paint, gave it a couple of coats and it still looks very good after a year now.

I got bored of the silver and wanted the more stealthy look, I had the bumper off so thought I may as well spray it up.

My car is running 330BHP with a VF28, full decat and an k&N induction kit, remapped by Pat.

Still running standard injectors and fuel pump. both are good for 340-350BHP

VHT stand for Very High Temperture paint, I used this as you don't need to use a primer for alloy and I wanted to keep the paint thickness to a minimum to avoid blocking the fins
