Are you looking for an upgraded TMIC or a FMIC?

Price will depend on the quality of parts.

front mount is easiest route on the early car due to lack of room between throttle body and bulk head

for a remap you can't do much better then JollyGreenMonster (there are loads other but have seen Jolly work and he's very friendly and very good imo.

Fuel pump ,440 or 550cc injectors (possibly a fuel pressure regulator) and check www.JollyGreenMonster.com - Engine management specialist for various ecu solutions should get you your target bhp.

emailed jolly green monster last month and he said with a remap should be looking at 295-300bhp at 1.1bar.he also asked if i had a standard intercooler thats why i was thinking of upgrading before i had it mapped.

For the work involved fitting a decent TMIC to the earlier cars you may aswell fit a FMIC, something like the Hybrid that is proven to work well. There are more expensive options such as those from APS or Lateral but they may not suit your budget.

Water Injection may be worth a consideration if retaining your OE TMIC or one of a similar size.

To achieve the most from your remap I would suggest larger injectors, a samco or similar turbo to intercooler hose, decat downpipe and an induction kit of some sorts - this would see you with a comfortable 300bhp

Have a look at this link, how to fit a STI 5 TMIC, this is on my list of jobs.

If 300bhp is as far as you are going to go then that is easily achievable with the original TMIC on a 95 WRX.

Sort out air and fuel first - FPR, bigger injectors, exhaust pipes.

Should see you to 300 easily with a remap.
