Default Fresh Import, will it require a remap?

Hi, as per the title, I am due to pick up a fresh import (provided everything checks up okay) and I am wondering what I should do about the fuel.

I understand jap cars are set to use 100 ron fuel.. do you think it will be safe to drive the car conservatively until I have the car booked in for a remap to shell v power?

Cheers,

Fz

If it's an early import wrx then you can easily run it on Vpower/99 ron fuel.

if it's a later model or STI ,imo, it would be worth running it on the above fuel and octane booster if you are concerned.

I ran my JDM type RA on Tesco 99 for 15k miles...

when the bottom end gave up I inspected the pistons and the heads and there are no signs of detonation at all

It's a 2000 STi 6 Type RA, was running on V-Power until my mishap. One of the first things I want to do is get it remapped when it comes out of the body shop if you guys think it's worth the effort.

you could get it checked.. with detcans and delta dash.. or just remapped for piece of mind and a little extra power.. but might want to add a decat or similar beforehand.
