how to tell if it's been remaped before
hi i,ve just fitted a new decatted downpipe, and was expected to have a few problems after wards, with the over boosting fuel cut off and cel light, i am having it remaped next week, but i've been driving it the last couple of days with no problems.
i fitted it with a boost gauge and thats showing it up to 1.2 bar (not sure what the mt05 sti ppp standard boost is).
so does this looked like it been remaped before, brought from a dealer, but i did notice when i put the downpipe on that it wasn't secured and that the heat shield for the turbo was missing, so i guessed that one had been fitted before.
is it still worth being remaped or just checked out on a dyno,
cheers munky

when they attache the laptop to it they should be able to see, if its been mpped before then it'll be a tweek, if not be a new map, if your unsure then persoannly i'd not risk it and have a full map done

As you bought a PPP STi, the downpipe you've just taken off should have been a Prodrive sports cat with a fancy cast bellmouth? It should have been bolted to the gearbox housing.
A turbo heat shield should have been fitted, albeit with some of it cut away to fit onto the larger downpipe mouth.

no the downpipe wasn't bolted to the gearbox, i saw the where it needed to be bolted to which is where the new one is bolted, and there's no heat shield, should i purchase on, i think i'm going to heat wrap the downpipe
