No, would not even recommend you drive the car in that order

No problem. Drive with a light throttle and avoid using boost or road testing for new performance. Just be sensible and you will be OK.

My car, MY94 has been running for nearly 12 months with FMIC, with no issues. 2 RR days and lots of drag races. Mine isn't mapped or with a 'built' engine.

I may just be lucky though.

Getting a remap is a hell of alot cheaper than getting an engine rebuild... Why risk it??

Maybe because I tend to get sick of reading the likes of; "You must get a remap when fitting an FMIC or your engine will blow up tomorrow" and similar.

Also maybe because I went about things the wrong way when I bought my car 2.5 years ago. Having learned things over that time, if I was to do it all again one of the first things I would have bought, would have been a mapable ECU, along with some 4 pots.

But no, I don't tend to do things like that. Admittedly not long after I bought my car was going to but some 4pots, but then needed to buy a new gearbox.. guess which was more important.

Sorry to the OP for taking this slightly off topic. What you have been advised, by Harvey, is sound advice.

Like I said, guess I'm just lucky.
