Leaking S/Steel Headers!
I've just fitted some new GT Spec style headers, I have had it mapped which went fine apart from the fact that one of the slip joints on the headers is leaking gases, albeit slightly and you can't really hear it unless you get down and dirty with it due to the nice loud hum from the tailpipe . Is it possible to seal this type of joint (I know I can't use any sealing compounds) with a fire ring seal of some sort (not to stop fire, I think there is some sort of seal I have heard of before) or have them welded (off the car!!).
Has anyone suffered this before, I don't want send them back as they where from Japan and I have already had my car off the road for to long fitting upgrades.
Cheers for any advice,
Dave.

I Would have thought you could use fire gum as they are triple layer slip joints so you could put it on the outside of the second layer.
Once set there is no chance of any getting into the exhaust system.

I see what you mean mate, thanks for that, I'll have to pull one side off and check if they are triple layered, but what if it is simply one piece slid inside the other?
As they aren't original GT Spec.

If it was just one inside the other it would blow like crazy and you would need a clamp to hold it tight.
If thats the case best get the welder out
