3 Month Old MAF Buggered already?
Right, Ive got a V plate Scoob Which has a BLITZ induction kit fitted to it along with a re-map and a 3" stainless system ( No Cats ). I had a problem with the Car on a rolling road a few months back and asked a few people what the problem could be. It wasnt pulling very well after about 4000rpm and was also runing lean. Apparently If i was to dissconect the MAF whilst running it should stall if its a GOOD MAF. So thats what i did and it just kept running. Next thing i did was change the MAF and it was all sorted.
Now I feel the problem is back
It seems to ( Sometimes ) hesitate at higher RPM ie Wont rev hard. So i just dissconected the MAF whilst running again and the bloody thing keeps ticking oner although not totally smoothly.
MY QUESTION IS, IS THE MAF DEFFINATELY BUGGERED IF THE CAR CARRYS ON RUNNING. If so, then do i need a new one and should i bin the induction kit. Cheers.

If you have the Blitz "stainless steel mesh" type filter, they are very poor at actually filtering the air, and it's not uncommon to see these problems.
Personally, I would suggest a K&N type cotton filter.
