Default sti5 + TD05-20G. Will I need an uprated turbo inlet pipe?

Hey folks. Pretty well as the title says. I have heard rumblings before about the OE pipe not being tough enough and sometime managing to collapse at peak air intake times, blocking the flow of air in to the turbo. Len hasn't mentioned it and he will be fitting the turbo on, but I thought I would ask before I get any 11th hour surprises!

cheers,

Nick .

no, some of the cheap silicone ones are more prone to collapsing issues...........

Also with a silicone pipe you will get more surging from the 20G, best off sticking with the standard inlet pipe.

Music to my ears guys, I thought Len would have mentioned something to me straight away if he thought it necessary.

Thanks again

I'm sure I read somewhere that the OE newage inlet pipes are less restrictive, but not sure if they are more prone to surge

I am guessing that the phase 2 engine I have means that the inlet pipe would be the same as the newage?
