Default Inlet manifold removal

Anyone ever removed the inlet on an sti8? Got the subaru manual to tell me how, but it seems like alot of work!
Is the removal of front side V belt and power steering pump necessary?

It is a lot of fiddly work. No belts need to come off though.
The power steering pump doesn't need to move but the rigid top hose has to be undone and swung out of the way.
The worst part is removing the green brackets that guard the injectors. The manifold bolts can then be undone.

Also time consuming getting to the bolts underneath the manifold that hold the loom in place.

i found it quicker unplugging the loom and removing manifold with it still on.
as said the plates covering injectors are the worst bit to remove.
while it is off you could remove the tumble generator flaps apparently they can restrict the air flow, dont know if this is true but i removed mine anyway.

yup, there's a couple of multiblocks (grey & brown?) by the battery that can be disconnected - though some other sensors like oil pressure and cam/crank will need to be unplugged.
